Job Description:
This position is responsible for providing leadership, guidance and direction for mill operations utilizing all available resources to maximize productivity and continually improve cost control activities employing the Greif Business System. To establish operating goals and manage people and processes to meet these goals locally while supporting and meeting the goals and expectations of the corporation. Key Responsibilities Continuously improves the plant's performance by implementing lean manufacturing concepts, techniques and processes. Effectively implements new performance management systems, production plans and performance criteria; confirms production progress; responds to delays; takes corrective actions; records KPI performance. Creates and implements improvement plans for the overall operation. Ensures team understands roles and responsibilities as it relates to the team and Greif. Encourages joint problem solving and individual development. Supports Greif mission, follows values of Greif and works to better Greif's business as a whole. Manages and maintains safety observances, ensuring guards and safety features are working, and promoting good daily safety practices and habits. Communicates goals and objectives, applies company policy, staffs, trains, coaches, recommends salary increases, administers discipline, insures positive colleague relations and reviews the performance of colleagues. Forecasts future production and facility needs and participates in the establishment of strategic business and project goals. Contributes in annual budget preparation. Controls expenditures in accordance with budget. Maintain close connection and contact with other departments. Performs other duties as assigned. Education and Experience Minimum Bachelor's Degree. B.S. in business administration or management curriculum with accounting preferred. Minimum 5 plus years experience. 10 plus years experience in papermaking process theory with mechanical and managerial skills preferred. Knowledge and Skills Ability to evaluate problems quickly and correctly, decipher input, make corrective decisions and effectively communicate the remedy to appropriate personnel at all levels. Thorough knowledge and understanding of the paper making process and a complete understanding of mechanical troubleshooting. Basic managerial accounting background is helpful. Sound business judgment and strong leadership and managerial skills.
Salary Range:
$150K -- $200K
Minimum Qualification
Operations ManagementEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
