Advanced Practice Nurse (Psychiatric)
Qualifications:
Ohio License
Current DEA
Term: 7/1/15 through 6/30/17
Hours: The contractor will be required to provide up to forty (40) hours per week of APN services
Job Duties Include:
Provide primary psychiatric care in coordination with interdisciplinary health care and health team
Create and implement patient care plans and perform advanced nursing duties within boundaries of licensure
Monitor progress of patients and intervene in the course of acute and psychiatric illness
Completes comprehensive psychiatric exam
Evaluate necessity for further psychiatric testing or referral to appropriate specialist
Analyze relevant data and prescribe appropriate medications
Works in collaboration with supervising psychiatrist as required and outlined by Ohio law
Complete discharge planning/follow-up care for patients with chronic care and/or medical issues
Review results of laboratory, x-ray and other diagnostic testing
Maintain required medical records according to agency and hospital guidelines, policies, protocols, by-laws and standards
Provide health guidance for patients and families
Act as a consultant to treatment teams
Meet with other clinical staff regarding matters involving nursing care practices
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
